Tips for Expert Educators

When a teacher provides feedback to a learner he/she must make sure that the feedback is framed positively and constructively, so that the learner's strengths as well as weaknesses are highlighted. The feedback should 'open a door' to the future, and give the learner a general idea of how she/he can improve in other tasks.

From: Macmillan Expert Educator Series: Feedback to Learners by Alison Zimmerman

Do you have a tip that you would like to share with other teachers? Please email it to mtc@macmillan.co.za. At the end of each term the best tip received will win an Expert Educator Series Booklet.
